We partner with mobile carriers, retailers, and financiers across 30+ countries, powering device financing solutions that drive economic inclusion, profitability, and growth. We pride ourselves on living by the Trustonic culture code, a blueprint for our journey that recognises that great working environments don’t guarantee success, but bad ones almost always ensure failure. Working here, you’ll find a company that celebrates its diversity and is looking to do the right thing: for each other, the community and the planet. We believe in equal opportunities and take to heart the old African proverb ’If you only want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together’.

We’re looking for a Legal Counsel to join our growing team and play a key role in supporting Trustonic’s next phase of growth. As a global B2B SaaS business operating in the cybersecurity space, we help organisations manage risk and unlock opportunities by securing billions of connected devices across mobile, automotive, IoT, retail, and banking and payments. Working as part of a lean and collaborative Legal function, you’ll partner closely with the Head of Legal and work cross‑functionally with teams across Commercial, Product, Engineering, Security, Finance, and People to support growth while managing legal, regulatory, and compliance risks.

This is a great opportunity for a legal professional who enjoys variety, autonomy, and being close to the business - combining commercial contracting, compliance, legal operations, and strategic support in a fast‑growing technology environment.

As the Legal Counsel, you will:

  • Commercial legal support
    • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, supporting teams across the business with practical legal advice
    • Partner with stakeholders to identify risks, solve problems, and enable commercial outcomes
    • Manage contract processes, approvals, and documentation to ensure efficient deal execution
    • Support relationships with external counsel where specialist advice is required
  • Compliance & governance
    • Support day‑to‑day compliance activities, including data protection processes, vendor assessments, and maintaining compliance records
    • Help develop and roll out policies, training, and guidance across the business
    • Assist with corporate governance activities, Board materials, filings, and legal documentation
  • Improving how we work
    • Help improve legal processes, templates, tools, and workflows as the business scales
    • Contribute to building a modern, efficient legal function that supports a growing technology company

Who you are...

  • A commercially minded legal professional who enjoys working collaboratively with the business
  • Comfortable balancing legal risk with practical, business‑focused solutions
  • Organised, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • A clear communicator who can build trusted relationships with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Curious, proactive, and motivated by solving problems rather than simply identifying them

What makes you, you...

  • Experience
    • Qualified solicitor, barrister, or attorney in good standing
    • A qualified legal professional with experience in commercial contracts and providing practical, business‑focused legal support
    • Strong experience with commercial contracts and contract negotiation
    • Experience providing practical legal support to business teams
    • Experience working in‑house is preferred but not essential
    • Experience within SaaS, technology, cybersecurity, or another regulated industry
    • Experience with GDPR, data protection, or compliance activities
    • Experience improving legal processes, templates, or ways of working
  • Skills & knowledge
    • Strong commercial judgement and contract drafting skills
    • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly
    • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
    • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with excellent judgement and integrity
