A senior assurance consultant with a strong background in software testing and software development lifecycles to join a leading assurance and testing consultancy. What is required

  • We are looking for bright, enthusiastic and experienced Assurance and Testing Consultants to join us on a wide variety of projects across our high‑profile client base.
  • You will need to demonstrate experience of having been responsible for testing delivery across multiple industry sectors and disciplines, so will need a strong consultative capability and be able to collaborate with individuals of varying levels of technical knowledge and seniority.

As Senior Assurance Consultant at Acutest, you will be expected to undertake the following:

  • Support the Principal Consultant / Programme Test Manager in the implementation of the Test Strategy
  • Promote the benefit and implementation of Acutest’s principles and practices on each client engagement
  • Recognise potential opportunities and the benefit to clients for the roll out of Acutest key services
  • Take part in the wider Acutest and Trustmarque community
  • Contribute to Acutest’s and Trustmarque’s ongoing development and evolution of its service offerings
  • Mentor team members, clients and wider organisation on Acutest best practice assurance

Essential experience

  • Responsibility for the creation and execution of Project / Programme Test Plans
  • Experience managing the full test lifecycle end‑to‑end (System Test, System Integration Test, UAT, OAT)
  • Responsibility for reviews of key project, requirement, design and test documentation
  • Implementation of risk‑based analysis of specification documents and test assets, liaising with business users and technical staff
  • Provision of detailed estimates for test preparation and execution for areas of responsibility
  • Management of test teams in the creation of test schedules for individual projects and / or releases
  • Implementation of and responsibility for the agreed defect triage and management processes to ensure correct prioritisation and timely turnaround of issues
  • Maintaining good relationships and collaboration with third‑party suppliers, vendors and stakeholders
  • Management of test teams, day to day, and ensure the creation and execution of test cases
  • Management of interactions of the test team with project team members and subject matter experts to ensure effective gathering of information to support the test effort
  • Responsibility for production of accurate test progress and defect status reports, as set out in the Test Strategy
  • Working with key stakeholders to enable them to make informed decisions about the quality of the product under test
  • Excellent communication with client and supplier teams
  • Inspire, motivate and support others to undertake change

Desirable experience

  • Experience supporting cloud, data or complex technology change programmes where assurance activity needed to align with wider business or transformation objectives.
  • Implementing risk workshops, test planning sessions or defect prioritisation discussions with mixed business and technical groups.
  • Improving testing processes or introducing better practices such as earlier test involvement, clearer acceptance criteria, better defect discipline or shift‑left approaches.
  • Exposure to automation, AI‑assisted testing, responsible AI use or other evolving approaches to improving test efficiency, coverage and assurance outcomes.

We have a large client base in London, as well as up and down the UK, so there is requirement for our consultants to travel. However, we do understand that people have a life outside of work, so will try and work with you to make this as easy as possible.
