The Pay Account Management team at Trustly is responsible for driving growth, retention, and strategic partnerships across the company’s Pay portfolio – covering every sector outside Gaming and Financial Services. The team manages a diverse portfolio of leading public sector organisations, retailers, travel companies, and billers, supporting them across Trustly’s full product suite – from A2A payments to data and onboarding solutions – to deliver seamless, high-performance experiences for their customers.

We are seeking a Senior Account Manager to join our Pay Account Management team. The role is focused primarily on the UK market, with responsibility for some pan-European accounts. This is a high-impact role responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of key strategic accounts. You will act as a trusted partner to our clients, delivering best-in-class relationship management while identifying opportunities to expand revenue, increase product adoption, and deepen long-term partnerships. This role requires a strong commercial mindset, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a deep understanding of payments, fintech, and the sectors served by Pay – including public sector, retail, travel and billers.

What you'll do

  • Account Management & Relationship Leadership
    • Own and develop senior-level relationships across a portfolio of key UK and pan-European Pay clients
    • Act as the primary point of contact, ensuring a consistently high standard of service and client satisfaction
    • Build trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders
  • Revenue Growth & Commercial Ownership
    • Identify and execute opportunities to grow revenue within existing accounts (upselling, cross-selling, new use cases)
    • Develop and deliver account plans aligned with client objectives and Trustly’s growth strategy
    • Negotiate commercial agreements and renewals to maximise long-term value
  • Client Success & Strategic Support
    • Drive adoption of Trustly products and features to increase client performance and ROI
    • Monitor account performance, providing insights and recommendations based on data and market trends
    • Collaborate with internal teams (Product, Sales, Operations, Compliance) to deliver solutions that meet client needs
  • Market Expertise & Thought Leadership
    • Maintain a strong understanding of the UK and EU payments landscape across public sector, retail, travel and billers, including regulatory developments
    • Provide strategic input to clients on industry trends and innovation opportunities
    • Represent Trustly at industry events

Experience & Skills

  • A strong track record in account management, client success, or another commercial role – the quality of your track record matters more than years served or the industry you built it in
  • Proven ability to manage and grow enterprise or strategic accounts
  • Strong commercial acumen, with real experience in revenue growth and contract negotiations
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and influence at senior levels

Domain Knowledge

  • An understanding of payments, open banking, or A2A ecosystems is an advantage – as you’ll be given the support to learn our product
  • Experience in public sector, retail, travel, or billing is a bonus rather than a prerequisite
  • Familiarity with UK market dynamics and the regulatory environment is a plus
