We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the Company’s operational and strategic requirements within the Property Team.
Responsibilities
- Assist the property team in managing the portfolio of assets and providing property‑related advice and support.
- Conduct inspections, measurements and surveys of assets to a professional standard.
- Prepare Heads of Terms and offer letters outlining commercial terms for property transactions.
- Negotiate Heads of Terms and collaborate with professional advisors to secure favorable commercial agreements.
- Prepare reports for approval of transactional activity.
- Coordinate legal activity for approved property transactions and monitor the legal process to completion.
- Assist with all aspects of property management, including lease advice, negotiation, assignments, variations, sublettings, consents, rent assessment, managing multi‑let properties, service charge assessment, rating matters, acquisitions, disposals, repairs and repairs management.
- Attend internal meetings with senior colleagues (e.g., Planning, Highways, Legal, Finance, Environmental Health) representing the Property Team.
- Ensure compliance with all financial and procurement rules of Ford Retail and Ford Motor Company.
- Inform management of health and safety issues that may pose risks to individuals or assets.
- Use and contribute to the development of property management information systems, supplying accurate management information.
- Perform other duties as directed by senior colleagues.
- Work from the Head Office in Colchester two days per week; the role is otherwise national.
Qualifications
- Degree in construction, property management or a related field.
- Strong communication, organisational and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and solve problems.
- Valid driving licence held for at least 6 months with fewer than 6 penalty points; 4 years must have passed since any reinstatement following disqualification.
- Willingness to secure a professional qualification such as MCIOB, RICS or equivalent.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Availability to work at the property office 2 days a week (Colchester, Essex).
