Join the Management Committee (Treasurer) at Royston Wardieburn Community Centre. Royston Wardieburn Community Centre SCIO is a vibrant, welcoming hub in the heart of the community, home to a busy sports hall, café area, and spaces used by local groups, organisations and families every week.
We are looking for new members to join our Management Committee, including a Treasurer who can help the committee keep a clear, practical grip on the Centre’s finances. It is a good opportunity to:
- Help shape the future of a much-loved community facility
- Bring a finance perspective to support sound decision-making
- Work with a friendly, diverse group passionate about local life
What the Treasurer role involves (in practice):
- Working with staff and fellow committee members to understand income and spending
- Helping review budgets and management accounts, and supporting good financial planning
- Contributing to reporting and oversight, including supporting the annual accounts process
You do not need to be a qualified accountant. We would welcome someone with experience of budgets, bookkeeping, finance oversight, or simply a willingness to learn and ask good questions.
Time commitment: Around 4 hours per month (monthly meetings, usually in person at the Centre). Open to all backgrounds and experiences, enthusiasm and a commitment to the community matter most.
