Role and expectations
The Board is looking to welcome new Trustees who can bring a range of perspectives, experience and expertise. Applications are welcomed from people with backgrounds across areas such as justice, social enterprise, housing and care, as well as those with knowledge of gender-based violence. Experience in areas including communications, PR and media, finance, fundraising and income generation would also be particularly valuable.
The Board meets in person in Edinburgh on a quarterly basis. Trustees are also expected to join one of the Board’s committees, which meet remotely each quarter, and to attend a number of key organisational events throughout the year. The overall time commitment averages around four hours per month, making this an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution alongside other professional and personal commitments. Previous board experience isn’t essential. We’re looking for people who share Sacro’s values, bring curiosity, sound judgement and a willingness to contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation.
