We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer with a strong interest in designing and delivering high-quality network solutions. We require proven expertise in scoping, designing, implementing, and maintaining LAN/WAN architectures, VPNs, firewalls, and routing solutions. We need strong knowledge of enterprise networking technologies, including switching, routing, firewalling, and wireless infrastructure. We require in-depth experience working with enterprise-grade network hardware. We need solid understanding of network protocols and services, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and MPLS. We require experience with cloud networking concepts and integrations, including Azure Virtual Networks, VPN gateways, and load balancers. We need strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across complex and diverse network environments. We require demonstrable experience producing both high-level and low-level design documentation. We need good working knowledge of network security principles and technologies, including IDS/IPS, NAC, SSL/TLS, and Zero Trust models. We require at least five years experience in a similar role within large and diverse enterprise environments using Microsoft server and Microsoft cloud technologies. We need advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. We require excellent communication skills and the ability to produce clear, high-quality documentation, including processes, procedures, and technical designs. We value a positive, proactive attitude with a strong sense of ownership.

Desirable: knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server technologies, particularly DNS, RADIUS, and PKI. Experience with networking solutions from vendors such as Fortinet, SonicWall, and Meraki.

A clear standard DBS check is required for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the technical delivery of complex projects across the business.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to design and deliver network solutions.
  • Maintain operational excellence through incident resolution and preventative maintenance.
  • Contribute to continuous service improvement.
  • Scope, design, implement, and maintain network architectures and related technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across diverse network environments.
  • Produce clear high-level and low-level design documentation.
  • Create and maintain processes, procedures, and technical designs.
  • Support enterprise networking and cloud networking integrations.
  • Help ensure network security and reliable service delivery.

Technologies: Azure Cloud, Hardware Support, LAN, MPLS, Network Security, TCP/IP, VPN, Windows.

The role is based in Ringwood, Hampshire, and offers a salary of £45,000 to £55,000, a 37.5-hour working week, hybrid working, company profit share, 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays, a paid birthday day off, additional paid leave dependent on company performance, private medical insurance including dental, ongoing training and support, company sick pay, a pension scheme, and progression opportunities.
