As Optimised Care continues to grow, we are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our finance team and play an important role in supporting the financial operations of the organisation.
The Role
As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for processing the daily transactions across the sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring all accounting procedures and internal processes are followed accurately. This is a varied role suited to an Accounts Assistant who is organised, detail-focused and confident working independently, while also enjoying being part of a wider team. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of your workload while contributing to the development and implementation of new processes and systems as Optimised Care continues to develop.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing daily transactions across the sales and purchase ledgers
- Ensuring accounting procedures and internal processes are followed accurately
- Completing supplier statement reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
- Dealing with supplier, customer and internal queries
- Supporting credit control and following up outstanding payments
- Completing regular bank reconciliations
- Processing supplier and other business payments
- Supporting payroll processes and related administration
- Assisting with the month-end accounting process
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Assisting with the implementation of new accounting processes and systems
- Identifying opportunities to improve existing processes and efficiencies
- Working with colleagues across the organisation to resolve financial queries
- Providing wider support to the finance function
- Completing other ad-hoc accounting duties as required
About You
We are looking for an Accounts Assistant who takes pride in their work, has strong attention to detail and is comfortable managing their own workload. The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience in an accounts or finance role
- Experience working with sales and purchase ledgers
- Experience completing bank reconciliations
- Experience with supplier statement reconciliations
- Credit control experience
- Experience processing payments
- Previous payroll experience
- Experience supporting month-end processes
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and communication skills
- The ability to deal confidently with queries
- The ability to work independently and use your own initiative
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A proactive approach to improving processes and systems
- Good IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
