Our client, a leading and expanding manufacturing organisation, established for over 30 years in Tamworth, is seeking an Operational Support Team Leader to join their well-established team. This is an excellent opportunity for a process-driven, analytical, and solution-focused individual who thrives on improving operational efficiency, leading teams, and driving continuous improvement across business processes.
Salary is between £28,000 to £30,000 depending on experience. Hours of work are 9:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. Please note this is an office-based position.

This role requires someone who enjoys analysing data, improving workflows, and ensuring operational targets and service standards are consistently achieved.
Your duties will include:
- Lead, motivate and develop the Operational Support team, ensuring departmental objectives and KPIs are achieved
- Oversee daily operational activities, ensuring tasks are completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed timescales
- Monitor team performance, providing coaching, feedback and regular one-to-one support
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training and development opportunities
- Analyse operational data and performance metrics to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement
- Investigate operational issues, identify root causes and implement effective, long-term solutions
- Review and improve processes to increase efficiency, accuracy and productivity
- Produce reports to support business decision-making and operational planning
- Work collaboratively with internal departments to resolve operational challenges and improve cross-functional processes
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and quality standards
- Support recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members
- Promote a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture
- Support people management activities, including investigations where required
- Provide cover for other Team Leaders to ensure continuity across the department
To be successful as the Operational Support Team Leader, you will have:
- Experience leading or supervising a team
- A process-driven mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive, solution-focused approach
- Experience producing reports and using data to drive operational improvements
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively

- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- A calm, resilient and adaptable approach when working under pressure
- Understanding of HR policies and people management processes would be advantageous
