The predicted salary is between 50000 - 60000 Β£ per year.

We are looking for an experienced Lead Adjudicator to join our team on a 12 month fixed term maternity cover contract. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing and developing a team of Adjudicators, ensuring the effective delivery of a high quality adjudications service. You will oversee the day to day operation of the team, ensuring decisions are delivered fairly, consistently and within agreed timescales.

The successful candidate will have previous experience managing a team of Adjudicators within a professional regulator or similar regulatory environment and will be confident leading people, driving performance and continuously improving operational processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage and develop a team of Adjudicators, providing coaching, mentoring and regular performance reviews.
  • Ensure the team delivers high quality, legally robust adjudication decisions in accordance with legislation, policy and organisational standards.
  • Allocate and oversee workloads, ensuring cases are progressed efficiently and service standards are met.
  • Monitor the quality and consistency of adjudication decisions, providing guidance and feedback where required.
  • Manage team performance, absence, wellbeing and professional development.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the smooth progression of cases.
  • Produce performance reports and management information for senior leadership.
  • Lead on operational improvements, identifying opportunities to enhance processes and improve service delivery.
  • Support the implementation of new procedures, policies and legislative changes.
  • Deal with complex or high profile matters and provide expert advice to colleagues.
  • Promote a culture of fairness, consistency, collaboration and continuous improvement.
About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven experience managing a team of Adjudicators within a professional regulator or similar regulatory organisation.
  • Previous experience working within an adjudications, regulatory or professional discipline environment.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, decision making and governance.
  • Experience leading, motivating and developing high performing teams.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and decision making skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience monitoring KPIs, service standards and quality assurance.
Essential Criteria
  • Experience managing the day to day performance of an Adjudications team.
  • Experience conducting one to one meetings, appraisals and performance management.
  • Experience allocating work and managing team resources.
  • Strong understanding of adjudication and regulatory processes.
  • Ability to interpret legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Experience implementing service improvements and operational change.
Desirable
  • Experience working within a UK professional regulator.
  • Experience supporting or managing hearings, tribunals or formal decision making processes.
  • Continuous Improvement or Project Management experience.
