Project Manager

Location: Central London (Hybrid)

Salary: £90,000

Contract: 12-month Fixed Term Contract

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a high-profile property transformation and relocation programme for a prestigious London-based regulator.

This is a unique opportunity to manage the end-to-end relocation of the organisation’s corporate headquarters, overseeing the sale of its existing premises while identifying, evaluating and supporting the acquisition of a new office of approximately 50,000 sq ft.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring a smooth transition, with minimal disruption to the regulator’s important public-facing and operational activities. Working closely with senior leadership, external property consultants and key stakeholders, you will deliver the programme from initial strategy through to occupation of the new premises.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall relocation programme, ensuring delivery to agreed timescales, budget and quality standards.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive project plan covering every stage of the relocation.
  • Coordinate the disposal and sale of the current headquarters, working with commercial property agents, solicitors and other professional advisers.
  • Support the search, evaluation and acquisition of a new office building of approximately 50,000 sq ft.
  • Manage feasibility studies, building assessments and due diligence activities.
  • Coordinate negotiations with landlords, vendors, surveyors and legal representatives.
  • Act as the central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders throughout the programme.
  • Manage project budgets, procurement activity and financial reporting.
  • Identify, monitor and mitigate risks, ensuring effective governance and reporting.
  • Coordinate architects, designers, workplace consultants, contractors and fit-out partners.
  • Develop and implement a move strategy that protects business continuity throughout the transition.
  • Manage workplace planning, furniture requirements, IT migration and operational readiness.
  • Lead employee communications and engagement activity to support organisational change.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety, statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Produce regular progress reports and presentations for executive leadership and project boards.

About You

You will be an experienced Project Manager with a successful track record of delivering large-scale office relocations, property acquisitions or estate transformation programmes.

You will be confident operating at executive level, managing multiple workstreams and suppliers, and delivering a complex programme within a regulated environment.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience managing major office relocation or corporate property projects.
  • Experience supporting the acquisition, disposal or redevelopment of commercial property.
  • Strong understanding of commercial property transactions and relocation programmes.
  • Experience managing complex budgets and multiple external suppliers.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and programme management skills.
  • Strong risk management, governance and reporting experience.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
  • Experience working with architects, surveyors, legal advisers, contractors and workplace consultants.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on project delivery.

Desirable

  • Project-management qualification, such as PRINCE2, APM or PMP.
  • Experience delivering office fit-out or workplace transformation projects.
  • Knowledge of commercial property acquisition and disposal processes.
  • Experience working for a regulator, professional body, membership organisation, public-sector body or not-for-profit organisation.
