We're hiring a Network Project Engineer!

Role Summary: The Network Project Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and delivery of network solutions as part of structured technical projects. The role has a strong focus on Cisco enterprise networking and fabric-based architectures, including Cisco DNA Center (DNAC) and Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC), and operates within a multi-vendor environment. The role is primarily home/desk based, with the flexibility to work onsite or away from home when project delivery requires it.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Project Delivery
  • Deliver network solutions as part of formal projects, including:
  • Enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, and fabric-based designs
  • Security and segmentation requirements
  • Implement designs in line with:
  • Approved reference architectures
  • Project scope and delivery plans
  • Support project testing, validation, and handover activities
  • Design and implement solutions using:
  • Cisco enterprise switching and routing
  • Cisco fabric-based networking
  • Configure, operate, and troubleshoot:
  • Client VPN Solutions
  • Work with policy-based networking, automation, and centralised management where appropriate
  • Work within environments that may include:
  • Extreme Networks
  • Apply consistent engineering principles regardless of vendor

Documentation & Handover:

  • Produce clear technical documentation, including:
  • Implementation notes
  • Network diagrams
  • Ensure solutions are supportable and ready for operational handover
  • Participate in knowledge transfer where required

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco enterprise networking
  • Experience with Cisco fabric networks
  • Practical experience using:
  • Cisco DNA Centre (DNAC)
  • Cisco Firepower Management Centre (FMC)
  • Solid understanding of:
  • Routing and switching
  • Network security and segmentation
  • Enterprise network design principles
  • Experience delivering network changes as part of structured projects
  • Experience with:
  • Extreme Networks
  • Palo Alto Networks
  • Fortinet products
  • Enterprise wireless design and deployment experience
  • Exposure to automation or centralised network management platforms

Security & Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC)
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
  • No visa sponsorship available for this role

Working Pattern & Travel:

  • Primarily home/desk based – Hybrid role
  • Must be flexible to:
  • Attend customer or company sites when required
  • Work away from home for short periods where projects demand it
  • Out-of-hours or weekend work may be required during project cutovers and busy delivery periods (planned in advance)
