Trust Payments has an exciting opportunity for a QA Engineer to join their team.
This role is predominantly remote, however occasional travel to our technology headquarters in Bangor, UK will be required.
How will you make an impact in this role?
You will apply a solid understanding of design principles to write clean, maintainable test code in Java or Python, whilst contributing to a CI/CD pipeline environment. Working closely with the test manager and project teams, you will develop and maintain automated functional and regression tests in line with defined scripting standards. You will apply a thorough understanding of testing concepts, methodologies, and processes across the full software product development lifecycle, whilst raising and managing defects clearly and efficiently using tools such as Jira to ensure quality is maintained throughout delivery.
What We Expect of You, Day To Day:
- Maintaining and improving the automated test framework
- Creating new automated tests and investigating test failures
- Writing automated tests following the BDD framework and contributing input to developers for unit-level tests
- Investigating defects reported by stakeholders and end users, supporting the team to identify root causes and appropriate fixes
- Performing manual and exploratory testing against new features
- Attending team retrospectives and workshops to support continual improvement
- Defining and adding new test cases into different automated test packs, capturing test results and defects
- Understanding requirements and testing processes to define test plans with continuous review of scope
- Providing test estimations and a clear testing approach to the Product Owner and team
Qualifications
- A positive, enthusiastic approach with a genuine interest in quality engineering
- Comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a team, with a willingness to share knowledge and support colleagues' growth
- 5 or more years of overall testing experience
- Experience in API testing frameworks such as REST Assured
- Experience in programming languages (Java or Python) β minimum 5 years
- Experience using Cucumber or Behave to write test cases in feature files using Gherkin language β 3 to 5 years
- Familiarity with CI tools (Jenkins, GitLab Pipelines) from a testing configuration perspective
- A methodical approach to problem-solving, with attention to thoroughness and detail
- A collaborative mindset with an enjoyment of sharing expertise and learning from others
