The Program Test Manager will be responsible for overseeing the testing activities for IT Infrastructure migration program for a Bank. This role involves coordinating with multiple teams, ensuring comprehensive test coverage, and delivering high-quality software products. The Program Test Manager will lead a team of test managers, test engineers, manage test plans, and ensure the integration of testing activities into the overall project lifecycle. Prior experience of working in similar program i.e. migration of IT infrastructure from on-premises onto Cloud and data centre exit will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Test Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies, plans, and frameworks for large-scale software programs and projects. Define test objectives, scope, methodologies, and success criteria in alignment with project requirements and quality goals.
- Test Planning and Execution: Lead the planning, execution, and coordination of testing activities across multiple project teams and testing phases. Develop test schedules, resource plans, and test scenarios to ensure timely and effective test coverage. Oversee test execution, monitor progress, and track test results to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Team Leadership and Management: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of test leads, analysts, and engineers. Provide guidance, support, and coaching to team members to ensure alignment with project goals, standards, and best practices. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the testing organization.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for test-related matters, including status updates, issue resolution, and risk mitigation strategies. Communicate testing progress, findings, and recommendations to project stakeholders, including project managers, development teams, and senior leadership. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and decision-making to address testing challenges and ensure project success.
- Quality Assurance and Governance: Establish and enforce quality assurance processes, standards, and guidelines throughout the software development lifecycle. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies. Implement quality metrics, benchmarks, and dashboards to measure and monitor test effectiveness, defect rates, and overall product quality.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and dependencies associated with testing activities, resource constraints, and project timelines. Proactively identify potential roadblocks, bottlenecks, and issues that may impact testing outcomes or project delivery. Develop risk mitigation strategies, contingency plans, and escalation procedures to minimize project risk and ensure project success.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements to optimize testing methodologies, tools, and techniques. Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and productivity improvements within the testing organization. Champion the adoption of best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies to enhance testing capabilities and deliver greater value to stakeholders.
