Overview

Service Transition Owner – SC CLEARED - OUTSIDE IR35 – HIRING ASAP

Start date: ASAP

Duration: 6-12 Months

Location: 2 days per week/bi-weekly in Portsmouth, rest of the month working from home

Rate: £500 per day OUTSIDE IR35

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED

Summary:

As a Service Transition Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that new or modified IT services are effectively transitioned into live operations with minimal disruption. You will coordinate across stakeholders to manage change, ensure service readiness, and uphold operational standards. This position is responsible for maintaining service quality, minimising risk, and ensuring that all new or modified services are fit for purpose and meet agreed service acceptance criteria before deployment. The Service Transition Manager reports to a Chief Operation Officer, but also involves close collaboration with the Head of Live Services. This role will work closely with Delivery Managers, Development Leads, Infrastructure Teams, and the Live services application support team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the transition of services from development into live environments.
  • Develop and maintain service transition plans.
  • Ensure all services meet agreed acceptance criteria before go-live.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Service Owners, and Operations teams to manage change and mitigate risks.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting aligned with departmental standards.
  • Act as an escalation point for transition-related incidents and issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement in service transition processes and tools.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to own issues until a new owner has been found or the problem has been mitigated or resolved.
