We are seeking an experienced DevOps & Cloud Security Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team on a 6-month contract. This role focuses on securing and operating modern, cloud-native, serverless platforms on AWS, with a strong emphasis on threat protection, DDoS mitigation, and security posture management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain secure AWS cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on serverless architectures
- Lead and support cloud security hardening, including firewalling, network segmentation, and access controls
- Implement and manage DDoS protection strategies and incident response processes
- Configure and maintain firewalling solutions (AWS-native and/or third-party)
- Monitor, assess, and report on cloud security posture and vulnerabilities
- Work closely with DevOps teams to embed security best practices into CI/CD pipelines
- Produce clear security documentation, dashboards, and reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Support audits, compliance requirements, and ongoing risk assessments
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS (production environments)
- Proven experience building and securing serverless architectures (e.g. Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge)
- Solid background in cloud security engineering
- Experience with DDoS mitigation and response
- Strong knowledge of firewalling, network security, and traffic filtering
Desirable / Nice to Have:
- Experience using Wiz (cloud security posture management & reporting)
- Exposure to other security tooling (SIEM, CSPM, CWPP)
- Background in regulated or enterprise-scale environments
