I am partnered with a firm that has revolutionised the geospatial space, building technology that turns vast amounts of real world imagery into highly scalable, interactive web based products used globally. They are looking for a frontend engineer to join a small, experienced engineering team working on a data intensive visualisation platform. The focus of the role is building performant, production grade user interfaces that sit on top of large scale spatial and street level datasets.

What you will do:

  • Build and evolve frontend applications using React and Next.js for complex data visualisation use cases
  • Own features end to end from early concept through to production release
  • Work closely with backend engineers to shape and consume high performance APIs
  • Solve performance challenges related to rendering, state management, and large datasets
  • Contribute to frontend architecture and technical direction as the platform scales

How the stack looks in practice:

  • React and Next.js as core technologies
  • REST APIs powering data heavy interfaces
  • Mapping and visualisation libraries for spatial data
  • Cloud hosted platform designed for global scale

About you:

  • Strong experience building and shipping production React applications
  • Comfortable working in an existing codebase and improving it over time
  • Interested in technically challenging frontend problems beyond standard UI work
  • Able to operate at standard or senior level depending on experience

Nice to have:

  • Mapping Libraries: Experience with Mapbox GL JS, Leaflet, or OpenLayers.
  • Visualizing Data: Familiarity with GeoJSON or working with spatial datasets.
  • Graphics: An interest in LiDAR, Pointcloud visualization, or 3D web rendering.

Benefits of the role:

  • High impact ownership within a small, senior leaning engineering team
  • Clear connection between frontend engineering and real world outcomes
  • Remote first working with onsite once per quarter
  • Flexible working and generous holiday allowance
