We are seeking an experienced DevOps & Cloud Security Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team on a 6-month contract. This role focuses on securing and operating modern, cloud-native, serverless platforms on AWS, with a strong emphasis on threat protection, DDoS mitigation, and security posture management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure AWS cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on serverless architectures
  • Lead and support cloud security hardening, including firewalling, network segmentation, and access controls
  • Implement and manage DDoS protection strategies and incident response processes
  • Configure and maintain firewalling solutions (AWS-native and/or third-party)
  • Monitor, assess, and report on cloud security posture and vulnerabilities
  • Work closely with DevOps teams to embed security best practices into CI/CD pipelines
  • Produce clear security documentation, dashboards, and reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Support audits, compliance requirements, and ongoing risk assessments

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS (production environments)
  • Proven experience building and securing serverless architectures (e.g. Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge)
  • Solid background in cloud security engineering
  • Experience with DDoS mitigation and response
  • Strong knowledge of firewalling, network security, and traffic filtering

Desirable / Nice to Have:

  • Experience using Wiz (cloud security posture management & reporting)
  • Exposure to other security tooling (SIEM, CSPM, CWPP)
  • Background in regulated or enterprise-scale environments

Contract Details:

  • £900 per day
  • Inside IR35
  • Fully remote
