A modern, fast-growing M&E Contractor in Sussex is looking to recruit a Junior Mechanical Estimator to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a mechanical or building services background who is looking to develop their career in mechanical estimating. You will work within a small, supportive team and receive direct mentorship from the Mechanical Director, gaining hands-on experience with estimating processes, pricing, and specifications across a range of M&E projects.
The Role
- Assisting with the preparation of mechanical estimates and tenders
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents
- Supporting the pricing of mechanical building services systems (HVAC, pipework, plumbing)
- Obtaining and reviewing supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Assisting in compiling cost plans and tender submissions
- Working closely with the Mechanical Director and estimating team
Requirements
- Mechanical background (Building Services, HVAC, Plumbing, Mechanical Engineering or similar)
- Interest in developing a career as a Mechanical Estimator
- Knowledge of mechanical processes, pricing or specifications would be advantageous
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work well within a small team environment
