A modern, fast-growing M&E Contractor in Sussex is looking to recruit a Junior Mechanical Estimator to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a mechanical or building services background who is looking to develop their career in mechanical estimating. You will work within a small, supportive team and receive direct mentorship from the Mechanical Director, gaining hands-on experience with estimating processes, pricing, and specifications across a range of M&E projects.

The Role

  • Assisting with the preparation of mechanical estimates and tenders
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents
  • Supporting the pricing of mechanical building services systems (HVAC, pipework, plumbing)
  • Obtaining and reviewing supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Assisting in compiling cost plans and tender submissions
  • Working closely with the Mechanical Director and estimating team

Requirements

  • Mechanical background (Building Services, HVAC, Plumbing, Mechanical Engineering or similar)
  • Interest in developing a career as a Mechanical Estimator
  • Knowledge of mechanical processes, pricing or specifications would be advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication and organisational skills
