Trust Fund is an early-stage venture fund focused on applied AI products that power how modern businesses are built and operated. The fund is led by Sophia Amoruso, who serves as Founder & Managing Partner. We’re backed by a group of experienced operators, founders, and investors.
We’re looking for an Investment Manager to support the Founder & Managing Partner and work closely across fundraising, investment pipeline, and long-term fund operations. This role is focused on supporting an active fundraise and maintaining core fund operations, alongside portfolio support and longer-term fund setup. This is a part-time, contract role designed for someone experienced in venture capital who prefers flexibility and autonomy, with the opportunity to extend over time.
In this role, you will:
- Own fundraise support workflows for an early-stage venture fund (excluding LP meetings and final negotiations)
- Maintain and manage the fundraising pipeline, CRM, and LP tracking with high data integrity
- Draft LP updates, fundraising memos, FAQs, and diligence follow-ups
- Create full investment memos and support company diligence end-to-end
- Maintain portfolio data, reporting inputs, and data room hygiene
- Draft and maintain external-facing materials (fund wiki, internal docs, process docs)
- Screen inbound deal flow and exercise independent judgment on prioritization
- Proactively source and research new investment opportunities where relevant
- Conduct sector research, market sizing, competitive analysis, and risk assessment to inform new investment areas
- Identify inefficiencies in fund workflows and implement process improvements or automations
- Operate as a thought partner to the GP on fund narrative, positioning, and institutional readiness
We'd like you to have:
- 3–5 years of experience in venture capital, ideally at an early-stage fund focused on B2B software or technology
- Prior experience supporting fundraises, LP reporting, and diligence processes
- Strong analytical skills and experience building and maintaining financial models
- Excellent written communication skills; able to produce investor-facing materials with minimal editing
- Comfort operating independently in an unstructured, asynchronous environment
- Strong judgment and the ability to prioritize without constant direction
- High attention to detail and strong systems thinking
- Intellectual curiosity and the ability to quickly develop informed views on new markets and technologies
- Familiarity with modern VC tooling (CRMs, Carta, Notion, data rooms, Google Docs/Sheets/Drive)
How we work (important):
- Work is largely asynchronous
- Feedback is thoughtful but not instant
- You are expected to propose solutions, not wait for direction
- First drafts are thinking artifacts; iteration is expected
- This role requires confidence, self-direction, and ownership
- Some “managing up” to a busy Managing Partner will be necessary at times
