The Trust for Sustainable Living is a registered charity based near Newbury, Berkshire. At our educational visitor centre, The Living Rainforest, visitors can experience the sights, sounds and smells of a lush tropical rainforest environment. We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Marketing Executive to join our small but passionate team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys creating engaging content, developing effective strategic marketing campaigns, and helping to grow an exciting brand. This is a hands-on role, and you will use your marketing expertise and organisational skills to bring ideas to life and drive results. We're looking for a confident communicator with strong marketing experience and a positive, proactive approach.
Primary Responsibilities
- Social Media Growth and Content Creation
- Lead and manage all social media channels for both the charity and visitor centre, driving strategic planning, content development, audience engagement, and platform growth.
- Lead the creation of engaging photo and video content that showcases the educational work of The Living Rainforest, bringing the brand to life across multiple platforms.
- Develop and implement a content strategy, monitoring performance and using data-driven insights to optimise content and engagement where needed.
- Lead the development and execution of an annual content calendar designed to build audience engagement.
- Branding and Wider Marketing
- Lead the creation and distribution of engaging newsletters for schools and the general public, promoting educational activities, events and updates while maintaining consistent brand messaging.
- Ensure the company website features engaging, accurate, and up-to-date content to support marketing campaigns, improve user experience, and strengthen online presence.
- Lead the design and production of print advertising materials, including leaflets and school promotional material.
- Lead the creation of engaging and informative signage around our visitor centre, including links to the charity and other offerings.
- Strategic Planning
- Analyse customer trends and marketing performance data and provide insights and recommendations to improve marketing effectiveness.
- Grow our online presence, building engaged communities that convert into members, partnerships and advocates for our work.
- Lead the implementation of a marketing strategy focusing on increasing awareness of our visitor centre and driving greater footfall.
- Establish strategic partnerships and stakeholders to support brand growth, collaborative campaigns, and wider business objectives.
- Events & Partnerships
- Support the planning and coordination of events, exhibitions, and promotional activities, particularly within the school holidays including educational resources, workshops and activity books.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners and key stakeholders while assisting in the creation and delivery of marketing materials for collaborations and partnership activities.
- Work closely with external agencies, media contacts, sponsors, and partners.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Degree or qualification in Marketing or related field.
- Previous experience in a marketing role.
- Genuine interest in animals, plants, and sustainability education.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
About the Role
- This is a part-time position, working up to 25 hours per week. Salary will be prorated to reflect part-time working.
- The role is based within our centre and offices (5 minutes drive between). It is in a very remote location so driving license and access to a car is essential for this role.
