Are you a caring, patient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with SEND and/or SEMH needs? We are currently recruiting for a SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic specialist school in Chesterfield, supporting pupils with a range of complex additional needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a genuine difference to children's lives and wants to become a valued member of a supportive school team.
The Role
As a SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils and staff to provide consistent, nurturing and engaging support throughout the school day. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils with a range of SEND and SEMH needs
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required
- Helping pupils to engage positively with their learning
- Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour
- Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence and social development
- Working closely with teachers and other members of the school's support team
- Creating a calm, safe and positive learning environment
- Supporting pupils both inside and outside of the classroom
