About the Role

Trust Education is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive primary school in the S36 area for a dedicated Year 2 SEND Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time, ongoing position starting as soon as possible.

You will be working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, helping to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND in Year 2
  • Assist in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Support pupils’ emotional, social, and academic development
  • Help manage behaviour in line with school policies
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND, ideally in a primary school setting
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
