Are you a caring, patient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with SEND and/or SEMH needs ?
We are currently recruiting for a SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic specialist school in Chesterfield , supporting pupils with a range of complex additional needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a genuine difference to children's lives and wants to become a valued member of a supportive school team.
The Role As a SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils and staff to provide consistent, nurturing and engaging support throughout the school day.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting pupils with a range of SEND and SEMH needs
Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required
Helping pupils to engage positively with their learning
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence and social development
Working closely with teachers and other members of the school's support team
Creating a calm, safe and positive learning environment
Supporting pupils both inside and outside of the classroom
What We're Looking For The school is looking for someone who is:
Patient, calm and compassionate
Confident supporting children with additional needs
Experienced working with SEND and/or SEMH
Resilient and able to remain calm when faced with challenging situations
Able to build strong and positive relationships with pupils
Reliable, enthusiastic and committed
Passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning
A strong team player who is happy to work alongside teachers and other professionals
Previous experience within a SEND, SEMH, specialist school or similar setting would be highly desirable.
