A well-established and welcoming primary school in Worksop is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Teacher to join their Reception class on a full-time maternity cover basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Early Years Teacher who is committed to supporting young children’s learning and development within a nurturing and engaging EYFS environment. The successful Early Years Teacher will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching in Reception, ensuring pupils are supported in developing the skills, confidence and curiosity needed for their early education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver structured, engaging and creative lessons as an Early Years Teacher, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Work within the school’s long-term planning framework, ensuring lessons are purposeful and support children’s development across all areas of learning.
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence and positive early learning experiences.
  • Assess, monitor and record pupil progress, using this information to inform future planning and next steps in learning.
  • Collaborate closely with the EYFS team, Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the SENDCo to ensure high-quality provision for all pupils.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive school culture that prioritises safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents and carers to support children’s development and transition into school life.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have experience working as an Early Years Teacher, particularly within a Reception setting.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.
  • Be organised, proactive and confident in planning engaging learning experiences.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues and leadership staff.
  • Have excellent classroom management skills and a nurturing, child-centred approach.
