Trust Education is recruiting on behalf of a charming village primary school in the S36 area for a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This is a part-time role working mornings only, starting in September 2026 until December 2026, offering a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive Upper Key Stage 2 team supporting Year 5 and Year 6 pupils.
The Role:
- Supporting teaching and learning across Year 5 and Year 6 during morning sessions
- Planning, preparing, and delivering targeted intervention work to support pupil progress
- Providing occasional class cover where required across Upper Key Stage 2 as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
- Working closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging and effective support sessions
- Creating a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Supporting pupils of all abilities and learning needs to achieve their potential
- Working collaboratively with staff, pupils, and parents to support positive outcomes
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold a minimum Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) status or have relevant experience within a similar role (ECTs ideal)
- Have experience working within Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5 and Year 6
- Be confident delivering intervention programmes and small group support
- Demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills
- Be reliable, organised, and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Have a proactive and positive approach to supporting teaching and learning
- Be flexible and confident providing Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) class cover when required
