Trust Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time PLC Coordinator to join a welcoming secondary school on a full-time basis, starting in September on an ongoing temporary contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced support professional who is passionate about improving the learning and welfare of vulnerable students. You will play a key role in managing the Personalised Learning Centre (PLC), delivering alternative provision and supporting students to overcome barriers to learning.
The Role
As the PLC Coordinator, you will work as part of the Personalised Learning Support team, managing the Personalised Learning Centre (PLC) and supporting vulnerable students through targeted intervention and mentoring. You will deliver alternative learning programmes, work closely with Learning Managers, parents and external agencies, and help students improve their behaviour, confidence, attendance and educational outcomes.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Have experience working within a school environment supporting young people with additional needs, vulnerabilities or behavioural challenges.
- Have a good understanding of the issues affecting children and young people and be able to provide effective support.
- Be confident supporting students with their learning and delivering programmes that build self-esteem and confidence.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
- Be able to build positive mentoring relationships with students, parents and external professionals.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office and standard ICT packages.
- Be committed to maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people.
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS check.
