We are seeking an EY/Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team in Huddersfield. You will play an essential role in supporting the learning and development of children aged 2-5 years in a vibrant and active learning environment. You will work closely with the class teacher to support the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Year 1 curriculum. You will help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment that promotes learning and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering engaging learning activities that support the class.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
  • Observe and track children’s progress, reporting on their development to the class teacher.
  • Support children with their social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Assist with classroom management, ensuring the learning environment is tidy, well-organized, and conducive to learning.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members, parents, and external professionals.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and support children in developing good social skills and self-regulation.

Key Requirements

  • A passion for working with young children and a genuine interest in early childhood development.
  • A relevant qualification in childcare or education (Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Enhanced DBS (We can help you process this certificate).
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C or above.
