Key Responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning in the classroom and with small groups or individual pupils.
- Assist pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
- Help prepare and organise learning resources and classroom activities.
- Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Support pupils with additional learning or SEND needs as required.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress to teaching staff.
- Supervise pupils during lessons, breaks, trips, and school activities.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents/carers where appropriate.
- Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
Person Specification
- Experience working with primary-aged children in a school setting.
- Good English and Maths skills.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Patient, caring, and able to engage and support pupils.
- Organised, reliable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing.
Desirable
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or training.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
- Knowledge of the primary curriculum.
- Experience delivering interventions or small-group support.
- First aid qualification (or willingness to undertake training).
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
