Key Responsibilities
- Support children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver individual and small-group interventions.
- Adapt activities and resources to meet pupils’ individual learning, communication, and sensory needs.
- Promote children’s social, emotional, language, and physical development.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
- Observe, monitor, and record pupils’ progress and share feedback with staff and parents as appropriate.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
- Build positive relationships.
Person Specification
- Experience working with primary-aged children in a school setting.
- Good English and Maths skills.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Patient, caring, and able to engage and support pupils.
- Organised, reliable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
Desirable
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or training.
