Job Purpose
To provide a wide range of activities to interest and stimulate the physical and mental state and well being of the residents. To assist the Manager in marketing the Home as required.
Principal Accountabilities and Activities
· To provide a suitable timetable of activities suited to the majority of the residents.
· Hands on responsibility for implementing activities.
· Responsible for arranging outings and guest speakers by agreement with the Manager so that adequate staff cover can be arranged.
· To assist the Manager in planning the Home\’s special events, such as garden parties, sales of work, fashion shows, etc.
· To obtain purchasing permission from the Manager for all stock items.
· To attend regular staff meetings and statutory fire lectures, and instruction.
· To leave the Department safe and presentable at all times.
· To assist in the maintenance of a Safe and Healthy Working Environment.
· Duty to whistleblow if witness bad practice or harm to a resident within the home
Qualifications, Training and Experience
· Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
· Professional neat appearance.
· Ability to manage own time, prioritising and organising work appropriately.
· Attention to detail.
· Work on own initiative, unsupervised.
· Motivate individuals to take part.
