Teaching Assistant (Supporting Early Years) at Truro School Prep – 30 hours per week / Permanent / Term Time Only

Salary: You will hold two separate contracts: Teaching Assistant: approx. £14,352 per annum; Breakfast Club: approx. £1,029 per annum.

Working pattern: Monday – Thursday 7:45am – 8:15am (Breakfast Club), 8:15am – 3:45pm (Teaching Assistant role) – includes a 30‑minute unpaid break during the school day.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with and support members of the teaching staff at Truro School Pre‑Prep, usually within the classroom alongside the class teacher.
  • Support access to learning for pupils and provide general classroom support.
  • Assist with learning activities and classroom organisation.
  • Contribute to the supervision of children during outdoor learning, lunchtimes, educational visits and wraparound care, including Breakfast Club duties.
Qualifications:
  • Relevant and recognised childcare qualification (minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Calm, caring and proactive approach.
  • Experience of working with young children and an understanding of the EYFS curriculum and play‑based learning (highly desirable).
