Truro School is seeking to recruit two new Governors who will help shape the future of our students. The Board of Governors works closely with the Head and Senior Leadership Team, acting as a critical friend by providing both challenge and support in equal measure.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of educational excellence and ensure the clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction of the school.
- Participate in board meetings and committees.
- Provide constructive challenge to the leadership team.
- Contribute strategic insights and governance oversight.
- Chair the Estates Committee if legally qualified or a chartered surveyor/civil engineer.
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong personal and professional values, integrity, and a willingness to challenge and ask questions.
- Experience in or knowledge of the Methodist ethos of the School is desirable.
- Professional legal qualification.
- Chartered surveyor or civil engineering background for chairing the Estates Committee.
- Cornish residency is desirable but not essential.
