We are seeking a motivated, proactive and positive individual to join our dedicated catering team at Truro School Prep School.
Salary: £31,033 per annum. Start date: August 2026. This role is permanent, term‑time only, plus, working 40 hours per week during term time with an additional 215 hours to be worked in the school holidays. Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 7 am–3:30 pm with a 30‑minute unpaid break.
Responsibilities
- Lead the day‑to‑day running of the Prep School kitchen, reporting to the Operations Manager.
- Manage and support the kitchen team, ensuring a safe, efficient and welcoming service with high standards of food quality, hygiene and customer care.
- Menu planning, food preparation, ordering and stock control, ensuring a cost‑effective service that meets the needs of pupils.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety and allergen regulations, while promoting a positive dining experience across the school community.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Willingness to undergo appropriate child protection screening, including checks with past employers and an enhanced DBS check.
