We are looking for enthusiastic, effective and proactive Learning Support Mentors to join our Learning Support & Inclusive Practice team. This is a role where no two days are the same β you\βll be empowering learners with a wide range of needs, helping them to achieve and build the skills they need for adulthood.
What you\βll be doing
- Supporting students with EHCPs or identified learning needs/physical needs in lessons, around campus and during unstructured time
- Encouraging independence, resilience and communication skills
- Promoting inclusive practice and advocating for learner success
- Working 1:1, in small groups, or supporting whole-class learning
- Helping students engage fully in college life β including trips, enrichment and work placements
- Using assistive technology and learning tools to enhance access
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff and parents/carers to monitor progress and celebrate achievement
- Providing personal care where required and supporting students with medical, physical or sensory needs
What you\βll bring
- A genuine passion for supporting young people
- Experience working with individuals with SEND, SEMH or medical needs
- A strengths-based approach that puts learner voice at the centre
- Excellent communication skills and a patient, positive manner
- Flexibility, adaptability and a willingness to embrace new challenges
- GCSE (or equivalent) English & Maths at grade C/4 or above
