Truro and Penwith Academy Trust, together with the Local Monitoring Committee of St Hilary School, are seeking to appoint a dynamic and committed Administration Assistant. As a school administrative assistant, your role is the backbone of the daily operation, requiring a blend of professional hospitality and meticulous data management. You serve as the first point of contact, greeting visitors and managing telephone communications with a high level of discretion.

Beyond front‑of‑house duties, you provide essential support by handling word processing for official reports and publications, updating the school website, and maintaining both electronic and manual filing systems. A significant portion of the role involves safeguarding sensitive information; you are responsible for updating pupil records in systems like Arbor, ensuring strict compliance with data protection laws during the intake or transfer of students.

Additionally, you act as a central coordinator for school logistics, managing appointments, staff sickness records, and the school lettings diary. From overseeing stock control and stationery to coordinating school meals and event outings, you ensure that the administrative infrastructure remains seamless and efficient. Ultimately, this position demands a proactive approach to multitasking, balancing routine office maintenance with the sensitive handling of confidential student and staff data.

At St Hilary School, our motto is simple but powerful: "The Best We Can Be". We are a friendly, and ambitious primary school of around 200 children, where every child is valued, nurtured, and inspired to achieve their very best. Our school motto - "The Best We Can Be" - is at the heart of everything we do. We are proud of our warm, supportive atmosphere and strong sense of community. We are constantly evolving to meet the needs of our children. Recently, we introduced our brand-new Nurture Hub – a welcoming space designed to support children's emotional well‑being, build their confidence, and help them develop resilience.

Alongside this, we are a Trauma‑Informed School (TIS) and embed restorative justice practices, so every child feels safe, respected, and supported. You will be an organised, approachable and proactive professional with a child‑centred mindset and a strong commitment to supporting a positive school environment. You will work effectively as part of a team, providing high‑quality administrative support that enables teaching and learning to thrive.

With excellent communication and organisational skills, you will share our school's values and contribute positively to our welcoming school and its strong community identity. We care about our staff and value their skills, contribution and expertise. Our commitment to growing great people means that we support staff in their own professional growth and development and empower them through support and career opportunities.
