The company
We are trumpet, a diverse group of ambitious people who’ve come together to transform the world of sales and GTM. We’re building a generational company and we’d love you to join us on this journey. Despite the availability of newer tools, the way teams sell hasn’t changed much in 30 years. Sales cycles are longer, buyer journeys are more complex, and buying behaviours are evolving rapidly. trumpet is helping 7,500+ companies including HubSpot, Gong, and Personio centralise their buyer journeys and close deals faster with digital sales rooms - interactive and collaborative spaces powered by actionable AI insights.
When Gong launched, people questioned call recording. Now it’s essential. trumpet is transforming the asynchronous side of the buyer journey - the 95% that happens without a salesperson in the room. We’re backed by leading investors including AlbionVC, Lightbird, Triple Point, and Anamcara, and have raised $9m to date. You’ll be joining at a pivotal moment of growth, helping shape the future of our product and category.
About the role
At trumpet, we fundamentally believe that the best products are built when small, cross-functional, autonomous teams are empowered to solve business problems as they see fit. We never assume what our customers want or need but instead, collaborate with them, to steer the ship, and together achieve greater value from our product. We’re obsessed with delivering continuous and progressive value for them to accomplish their goals and tackle their challenges, head-on.
You will be one of the first 50 hires on our fast-growing team having closed $9m in total to date from leading investors including AlbionVC, Lightbird, Triple Point and Anamcara. This is a high-velocity closing role focused on converting inbound demand and smaller opportunities into revenue, quickly and consistently. You’ll own a large volume of deals from first conversation through to close. These are typically shorter sales cycles with fewer stakeholders, where success comes from strong qualification, clear value articulation, and the ability to create urgency. The goal of this role is simple: close a high number of well-qualified opportunities efficiently, while delivering a great buying experience.
What you’ll do
- Own a high volume of inbound opportunities from discovery to close
- Run efficient, structured sales cycles — keeping momentum and avoiding deal drift
- Qualify quickly and rigorously (problem, urgency, stakeholders, next steps)
- Deliver sharp, tailored demos focused on clear business value
- Create urgency and guide buyers to decision with confidence
- Manage a fast-moving pipeline with excellent organisation and prioritisation
- Maintain strong CRM hygiene with accurate notes, stages, and next steps
- Collaborate closely with SDRs on handoffs and feedback loops
- Share learnings on messaging, objections, and conversion rates to improve team performance
What success looks like
- You consistently close a high volume of deals within short sales cycles
- You are highly organised and in control of a busy, fast-moving deal flow
- Buyers have a smooth, decisive experience - no unnecessary friction or delays
- Senior AEs are freed up to focus on larger opportunities because you reliably own this segment
Required experience
- 1–3 years of experience in B2B SaaS sales with closing experience
- Evidence of strong performance against targets (activity, meetings, or revenue)
- Experience handling inbound leads or high-volume sales cycles
- Strong organisational skills - able to manage many deals simultaneously
- Clear communicator with the ability to simplify value for customers
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-activity environment
Preferred experience
- Closing experience (even if on smaller deals or as a junior AE.)
- Experience in a transactional or high-velocity sales environment
- Familiarity with structured sales methodologies (MEDDICC, Challenger, etc.)
- Experience selling to sales, marketing, or revenue teams
Working style and culture
- Hybrid London: 3 days/week in office
- You are highly organised and proactive — you don’t let deals stall
- You value speed and clarity over over-complication
- You thrive on activity, momentum, and closing
- You’re coachable and keen to develop into a full-cycle AE over time
Company values
- We are restless and ambitious in the pursuit of growth
- We obsess over our users
- We always trust, respect and care for another
- We are brilliantly bold
- We are feedback focussed
- We inspire and take action using data
Interview Process
Our hiring process follows this pattern:
- Initial screen (20–30 mins): motivation, outbound experience, compensation expectations, hybrid suitability.
- Hiring manager interview: detailed walkthrough of sales experience
- Practical exercise: Written outreach: 2–3 sequences (email + LinkedIn) for a chosen persona
- Call role play: 10-minute cold call + objection handling (using a dialler-style cadence)
- Values interview + final decision meeting (CRO + CEO).
The opportunity to join a disruptive startup at its earliest stages. 25 days annual leave plus local.
