To work in a supportive role to the Director of Golf Courses & Estates, by overseeing the day to day management of the golf courses and its associated areas. Ensuring the presentation and maintenance of the golf courses are at all times in the best possible condition, providing members and visitors with a truly memorable experience. Ensure all department activities are aligned with the core values and brand standards of Trump Golf & Trump Hotels.
Essential Tasks:
- Plan, organize and direct the daily maintenance of the golf courses, practice facilities and all associated areas.
- Assist the DoGC&E with the planning and implementation of strategies to maintain the golf courses, ensuring that Trump Turnberry maintains and enhances its reputation as a world class facility.
- Plan, organise and oversee the correct applications of water, sand, chemicals and fertiliser to all maintained playing surfaces.
- Maintain up to date and accurate records of all activities, including product applications, stock records, labour productivity and training records.
- Order and report on purchases in relation to agreed budgets.
- Assist the DoGC&E with the preparation and management of the annual budgetary process.
- Maintain high levels of customer care at all times.
- Be an expert on all resort H&S policies, ensuring that all duties are performed with full regard to the safety of associates, customers, visitors and contractors; work within H&S, COSHH, risk assessment, SOP’s and HAVS assessment at all times.
- Ensure all associates are fully trained on all H&S processes and risk assessments.
- Manage all compliancy of tasks on the company H&S system, Diligence.
- Manage the efficient operation, safe handling, application and storage of all chemicals and fertiliser, ensuring all records are up to date at all times.
- Undertake monthly stock checks.
- Plan and oversee the implementation of agreed work programmes and projects.
- Proactively manage disease, weeds, storms or any other potential problems that could have an adverse effect on desired and expected standards.
- Ensure that all recommendations made by the R&A are implemented and performance targets are met or exceeded.
- Measure performance to track progress and quality.
- Ensure all standards are met to retain GEO certification, through full compliance with the online system, OnCourse or and or other similar initiatives.
- Manage the efficient and safe handling of all machinery and equipment, ensuring all associates are properly trained in safe use and operation.
- Manage, train and develop direct reporting staff according to policy and procedures.
- Carry out reviews and implement personal learning plans.
- Develop reporting staff to ensure that they maximize their contribution to the hotel.
- Assist the DoGC&E with the recruitment cycle.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Liaise where and when required with other key department heads.
- Ensure all new hires complete their full Learning Pathway on Flow.
- Ensure all associates attend company training courses identified via the annual department training budget, annual appraisals, workforce development fund, Trump Hotels etc.
- Assist the DoGC&E with company programmes and initiatives such as Associate Opinion Survey, Annual Appraisals, Turnberry Titans Fundraising etc.
- Hold daily briefing with the team.
- Undertake disciplinary procedures where and when required, liaising with HR as required.
- Keep up to date with advances in new products, equipment and technology.
- Attend any training courses deemed suitable.
- Act upon Fire, Hygiene and all Health & Safety legislation.
- Undertake “hands on” greenkeeping duties as required.
- All other duties or tasks required to contribute to the workflow of the department.
