The role involves delivering in complex client environments through pairing, TDD, emerging design, and refactoring. The position is hybrid, based in Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow, or Leeds, with weekly travel to client sites across the UK. In-person collaboration is essential.

You will need:

  • Proficiency in Java or Scala, with the ability to pick up Kotlin, Ruby, or JavaScript when necessary.
  • Strong testing practices and maintainable object-oriented design.
  • Experience in delivering complex services to GDS standards.
  • Agile team player who pairs, mobs, and mentors.
  • SC clearance eligibility - UK citizen, 5+ years UK residency, no 28+ day gaps.
  • Consulting experience, including leading user stories end-to-end, shaping backlogs, building stakeholder trust, adapting quickly, and helping teams improve.
