Overview
Senior Business Development Manager (Software Development Services / Consultancy) is a newly created role for a UK-based consultancy expanding its business development function. You will report to the Head of Sales and be responsible for identifying, creating and securing new business opportunities for the company, with the support of a team of business development executives. This role is ideal for someone who is self-starting with ambition and ideas and wants to be a trusted right hand.
Responsibilities
- Identify, create and secure new business opportunities for the company, with the support of a team of business development executives.
- Work with internal teams to support growth and successful delivery.
- Lead and participate in the full lifecycle of sales from research to prospecting, proposals, bids and pitches, including representing the business at events.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders up to C-level across a range of industries and sectors.
- Innovate in selling software development services.
Qualifications
- Over 5 years of experience in software development services / consultancy sales. We specifically need this experience and cannot consider tech platform or vendor sales.
- Extensive experience of full lifecycle sales from research to prospecting, proposals, bids, pitches, and representing the business at events.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and engagement, with credibility up to C-level in multiple industries.
- Comfortable working with the wider team and the organisation for collective success.
- Innovative approaches to sales and selling services.
Location & Travel
The role can be based anywhere in the North of England. Office travel is approximately 1 day per week in Leeds and around 2 days per month in Newcastle; travel to other locations is paid for by the organisation.
Compensation
Starting salary is up to £70,000 base plus commission (1% of all sales, uncapped) and benefits (dependent on experience).
