We're looking for an experienced Product Manager to support a major UK Government department delivering critical digital services that help some of the most vulnerable people in society access the support they need.

This role sits within a high-profile programme focused on improving digital services used by healthcare professionals and Government teams. You'll work within a multidisciplinary agile team, helping to shape product direction, prioritise delivery and drive continuous improvements to services that have a direct impact on citizens across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Lead Product Manager to define product goals, strategy and priorities.

  • Manage and prioritise the product backlog to maximise value for users and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with engineers, business analysts, designers and delivery teams to deliver high-quality digital services.

  • Engage with stakeholders across Government to align priorities and build consensus.

  • Use insight, data and user feedback to inform product decisions and roadmap development.

  • Balance the needs of a live service with ongoing improvement and transformation initiatives.

  • Champion user-centred design and ensure user needs remain at the heart of decision-making.

  • Communicate product vision, progress and priorities to a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Identify risks, dependencies and challenges, making informed decisions in complex environments.

  • Support teams in delivering outcomes while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

We're Looking for Someone With:

  • Strong Product Management experience within digital, technology or public sector environments.

  • Experience developing product roadmaps and managing prioritised backlogs.

  • A proven track record of working within agile, multidisciplinary teams.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Experience influencing and challenging stakeholders to drive positive outcomes.

  • A user-centred mindset with a strong understanding of digital service delivery.

  • Experience making decisions with incomplete information in fast-moving environments.

  • Experience supporting and coaching teams to deliver high-quality products and services.

  • Knowledge of GDS principles and Government digital delivery practices would be highly advantageous.

  • Previous experience working within UK Government or wider public sector organisations is desirable.

Additional Information:

This is a primarily remote role for candidates based outside London. The team currently meets face-to-face once per quarter for approximately 1.5 days, typically in Manchester or Leeds, with occasional additional stakeholder meetings as required.

If you're a Product Manager who enjoys working on meaningful public services, influencing stakeholders and delivering digital products that make a genuine difference to people's lives, we'd love to hear from you.
