Lead QA Engineer

We\’re Hiring: Lead QA Engineer | Critical Connectivity | Hybrid (3 days/week in Watford)

Our client is a provider of critical connectivity across security, health, retail, and beyond — from life-saving fire alarms to telehealth devices and next-gen IoT infrastructure.

They\’re now looking for a Lead QA Engineer to own and define their quality strategy from the ground up. You’ll be the driving force behind quality across our entire solution, shaping best practices and ensuring we deliver robust, resilient systems that thousands rely on daily.

🌟 What you\’ll be doing:

• Taking full ownership of QA strategy across a complex, integrated platform
• Leading on both manual and automation testing – hands-on and highly exploratory
• Designing and implementing scalable test frameworks from scratch
• Working closely with Engineering, Product, and Ops to spot quality risks and solve them early
• Investigating complex system behaviours and driving long-term quality improvements
• Collaborating with offshore teams and influencing cross-functional quality thinking

🎯 What we\’re looking for:

• Proven experience owning QA in complex environments (not just UI testing!)
• A 50/50 blend of manual + automation experience (Selenium, Cypress, Postman etc.)
• A proactive mindset – someone who can spot the risks others don’t
• Confident operating in ambiguity and building structure around it
• Strong communicator who can influence both tech and non-tech teams
• Bonus: background in IoT, telco, infrastructure, or highly available systems

💰 £75,000 + 10% bonus
