Overview

We are seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to lead technical delivery across operational assets, existing buildings, and refurbishment projects. The role focuses on solving complex engineering challenges within live environments and improving building performance, energy efficiency, and long-term asset value.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical engineering design and advisory services on refurbishment and operational asset projects
• Lead small to medium-scale projects and support delivery across larger frameworks
• Prepare feasibility studies, condition surveys, technical assessments, and due diligence reports
• Support decarbonisation and building performance improvement initiatives
• Conduct site inspections, commissioning reviews, and post-occupancy evaluations
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver coordinated engineering solutions
• Mentor and support junior engineers

Requirements

• Strong experience working on existing buildings (fit-out, refurbishment, operational assets)
• Mandatory experience in the Science & Research sector
• Proven capability in performance-led design, detailed design, and site-based duties
• Good understanding of building performance, data, and metering systems
• Excellent communication and technical report-writing skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines
• Familiarity with UK/EU design regulations and standards
