We are looking for an experienced Press Brake Setter / Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating AMADA press brake machinery to produce high-quality sheet metal components in line with engineering drawings and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate AMADA press brake machines safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical specifications.
- Select the correct tooling and materials for each job.
- Program, adjust, and fine-tune machine settings to achieve accurate bends and dimensions.
- Carry out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks using measuring equipment.
- Ensure all parts meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment clean and operational.
- Work to production schedules and achieve daily output targets.
- Identify and report machine faults, tooling issues, or quality concerns.
- Follow all company health & safety procedures and maintain a tidy work area.
Requirements
- Previous experience setting and operating AMADA press brake machines.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Experience using measuring equipment such as verniers, callipers, and angle gauges.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Flexible attitude towards overtime and shift work where required.
- Experience with CNC programming.
- Forklift would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement processes.
