Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Product Design Engineer to join our expanding team. We are open to candidates with varying levels of experience, from junior through to more experienced engineers, making this a great opportunity to develop your career within a supportive and fast-paced environment.

This is a hands-on role combining design, CAD/CAM programming, and manufacturing collaboration. You will be responsible for designing products, creating production-ready drawings, and developing programmes for manufacturing, working closely with internal teams to ensure efficient delivery. This role would suit someone with at least 12 months’ experience in SolidWorks and programming, who is looking to build on their skills within a growing business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop products in line with customer and project requirements.
  • Support the improvement of existing products to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Assist with research and development activities to support innovation.
  • Produce accurate, detailed drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Develop programmes for manufacturing machinery (laser, punch, etc.).
  • Ensure designs are practical, buildable, and production-ready.
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure designs align with manufacturing capabilities.
  • Provide technical support where required.
  • Support continuous improvement of design and production processes.
  • Support projects from concept through to production.
  • Liaise with internal teams including estimating, surveying, and production.
  • Ensure smooth transition from design to manufacture.
Skills & Experience
  • Essential: Minimum 12 months’ experience using SolidWorks.
  • Experience in CAD/CAM programming within a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work within a team.
  • Desirable: Experience within sheet metal / fabrication / manufacturing environments.
  • Experience programming CNC machinery (laser, punch, etc.).
  • Knowledge of SigmaNest or similar software.
  • Awareness of industry standards (e.g. BSEN / CE marking).
