Customer Success Engineer / Manchester (hybrid, Northwest based) | Up to £60,000 + benefits | Go-to-market team
About the company
Fast-growing, investor-backed data and AI consultancy in central Manchester. The business designs, builds and manages enterprise-grade data platforms, productised on Snowflake, plus the AI use cases built on top.
The opportunity
The company is adding a technical seat to its go-to-market team. Working alongside the customer success manager, you come in once the client's requirements are captured, then scope and build a tangible solution and product demo that shows the client what is possible. Think of it as a forward deployed engineer style role, without the requirement to be a full software developer.
Today, building demos depends on the CTO's time, which is a bottleneck. Your job is to remove that: turn a client's needs into something real and demonstrable at pace, using modern AI and low-code tooling, and put it in front of the client while the opportunity is warm.
What you'll be doing
- Taking captured client requirements and scoping what the solution could look like
- Building tangible prototypes and product demos to support pre-sales, at speed
- Identifying opportunities, risks and dependencies within a client's environment
- Partnering with the customer success manager and the go-to-market team through the pre-sales cycle
- Removing the reliance on senior engineering time to produce demos
What we're looking for
- Experience in a customer-facing technical role: pre-sales, sales engineering, solutions consulting, implementation or customer success engineering
- The ability to scope a solution and build a working demo that communicates value to a stakeholder
- A prototyping mindset: you would rather show something working than write a specification
- Familiarity with the modern data and AI landscape (cloud data platforms, SaaS, AI tooling); Snowflake ecosystem experience is a bonus, not a requirement
- You do not need to be a full-time developer; speed, curiosity and communication matter more
Technical skills
Essential
- Confident with SQL for querying, exploring and shaping data
- Working knowledge of at least one cloud data platform (for example Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks or Azure Synapse)
- A good understanding of the data lifecycle: ingestion, transformation (ETL or ELT), modelling and getting data into a usable state
- Able to build and present a working demo or prototype at pace, including with modern low-code and AI tooling
- Comfortable translating a technical solution into plain business value for a non-technical stakeholder
Desirable
- Hands-on with a BI or visualisation tool (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or Looker)
- Some Python for data manipulation and scripting
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and connecting source systems such as CRM and ERP via APIs
- Exposure to modern AI tooling (LLMs, copilots, Snowflake Cortex or similar)
- Snowflake ecosystem experience
Note: We are looking for breadth and speed, not deep data-engineering specialism. SQL and the ability to build a compelling demo matter more than any single tool on the desirable list.
Why join
- A newly created role with real influence over how Assured wins and delivers
- A small, senior go-to-market team with direct access to leadership
- A fast-moving environment where demos ship in days, not months
- Hybrid working from a central Manchester base
