Northeast Lincolnshire

We’re looking for a Technical Manager to join a well-established food manufacturer who supply award winning chilled products to the UK retailer and food service market. From a technical point of view, they’re in a strong place with a BRC AA+ and no current gaps in the team. The role would suit a tried-and-tested Technical Manager as opposed to someone stepping up.

Role Responsibilities

  • Managing the day-to-day activities of the technical team on site, you’ll have one direct report and coach a small team of QAs.
  • Ensuring the HACCP system is adhered to and managing site audit schedules to ensure compliance.
  • You’ll be factory focussed, responsible for all the audits.
  • From time to time, you’ll find yourself customer facing with the major retailers.
  • Proactively communicating information to the Directors on technical performance.
  • You’ll act as a point of contact between the factory technical team and the wider technical team.

Candidate

  • You will need to have a chilled food background to succeed in this role.
  • Previous experience as a Technical Manager within food manufacturing is essential, this wouldn’t suit someone stepping up.
  • HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety Level 3.
  • A working knowledge of BRC V9.
  • The ability to take ownership of a technical function.
  • Lead auditor or equivalent qualification.
  • You will need to be comfortable with ambiguity and getting stuck in, no two days are the same in this business.
