Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable back-end services using Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot.
- Collaborate closely with developers, architects, product teams, and stakeholders.
- Champion engineering best practices, including Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Contribute to technical discussions, solution design, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the delivery of high-quality software within Agile delivery teams.
- Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing activities.
Essential Skills Experience
- Extensive experience as a Back-End Software Engineer or Developer.
- Strong commercial experience with: Kotlin, Java, Spring Boot.
- Proven expertise in Test-Driven Development (TDD), with the ability to demonstrate this during a pairing exercise at interview stage.
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and modern development methodologies.
- Collaborative mindset with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience working within government or public sector environments.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working on secure, large-scale digital services.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery practices and DevOps principles.
- Previous experience working within teams requiring Security Clearance.
Deliverables
- Support delivery of project objectives during the initial 3-month Statement of Work.
- Produce high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Contribute positively to team performance and technical excellence.
