Required
- Scala leadership experience
- Lead the design and implementation of full-stack solutionsleveraging Scala across both front-end and back-end layers.
- Build and maintain microservices leveraging the Play Framework, deployed on a Paa S platform.
- Ensure best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment are followed throughout the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver software solutions that meet both business and technical requirements.
- Provide hands‑on technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a team of developers.
- Drive architectural discussions and actively contribute to high-level technical decisions.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to improve code quality and maintainability.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible communication forstakeholders and non-technical team members.
- Partner with Dev Ops and QA teams to ensure robust, scalable, and secure solutions.
- Activelyparticipatein HMRC craft communities, sharing IBM best practices and thought leadership.
- Experience in working in a Mac OS or Linux environment is essential.
- Demonstratedexperience in a Lead Developer or equivalent leadership position, with a strong background in Scala development.
- Strongproficiencywith Scala and functional programming principles.
- Hands‑on experience in developing microservices with Play Framework.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e. g., Git), and modern dev tooling, such as Intelli J, VS Code, sbt(scala).
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Strong communicationand interpersonal skills; able to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
